It is generally a good watch dog but not a guard dog, even though its appearance can appear otherwise.
Australian Bulldogs are much taller than their English Bulldog cousins, measuring between 46-51cm and weighing in at between 28 - 35kgs. Australian Bulldogs will usually live to between 12 and 15 years of age.
Aussie Bulldogs can live in the smaller space if sufficiently exercised but are not particularly suited to apartment life. This breed is an indoor dog, and should not be left outside all day in a kennel. Aussie Bulldogs need plenty of exercise and like long daily walks. They enjoy a good swim and sun baking, although as with all dogs, owners should be aware of the Australian sun Aussie Bulldogs do best in temperate climates as the breed can chill easily in cold weather and have trouble cooling off in very hot weather.
